Record Snow

So, I have lived in Texas my whole life, and in north Texas for the past 15 years.  I have NEVER seen anything like this before.  Maybe that's because we officially got 12.5 inches of snow in a 24 hour period, the most in 111 years!  It started around 3am on Thursday and continued ALL day long.  Yes, we went to school and work on Thursday, but hardly anyone worked on Friday!

Instead, this is what we did!

Peek a boo
The girls didn't last very long in the cold, but they did have some fun in the snow.

Mmmmm...tasty

Drew slept through most of the fun, but did wake up in time to get his picture made with the snowman.

So, here are a few pics of things around the house.  May give some perspective on how much there really was.

Even after our very amateur attempt at shoveling, we still couldn't get the car up the driveway.
Late Friday morning we ventured out.  Things were getting a little chilly in our house after the electricity had been off for 5 hours and counting!  Still lots of snow, but the roads were clear.

Looks like lots of fun--maybe for one day--but wouldn't want to do anything but view from the window. Glad you had a good time.

It is sure beautiful to look at from inside a warm house or car. You did a great job on your snowman, Ashtyn. I hope you and Harper had a good time playing in the snow.
